Fallen by Lauren Kate
3.0
actual rating: 3.5
firstly I would say that i don't know why this book is getting bad ratings. yes it's not the best book out there but it's not the worst.
secondly while I did enjoy this book, I found that it took forever to get to the plot of the story. we all know that daniel is a fallen angel, I don't know why the author had to drag it out until the last few chapters of the book. i also found myself getting confused too many times, mainly to do with what was happening. everything seemed to be happening to fast that I couldn't register was what was going on.
thirdly, the main character was a "downright bore" and "human equivalent of a mirginae". i couldn't connect with this character whatsoever and i couldn't care less if she died or lived. she was so absorbed with daniel that she wanted to know his shoe size. key word "wanted". i felt like luce had no personality apart from a clueless lovesick puppy. she had no idea about anything and made no intention in finding out unless it came to daniel. oh wait, no surprise there.
however, the side characters was far better than the main character. they had more personality and i wanted to find out more about them.
another thing that really annoyed me was that we never found out why the other characters was placed at this reform school; which by the way is basically a safe haven for fallen angels, aside from the odd couple of people who are humans.
in my opinion I would continue reading the next books but if the next book is anything like fallen then I would not be continuing. yes it was a quick easy read but it was lacking something and took forever to get to the plot of the story.
