Don’t Forget to Write by Sara Goodman Confino

5.0

Five stars, without a doubt, this book will be staying with me for a long time.

This is the story of Marilyn Kleinman's 20th summer, Ada's 70 something summer, and finding true love.

Marilyn is sent to Ada after causing a scandal in her community to find a husband who will put her in line. But she finds so much more under the supervision of her (great) aunt on the beach in Avalon New Jersey.

I loved watching love be defined over and over, through different lenses. I loved watching Marilyn think she was finding love only to have her eyes open to what love can and should mean. And most of all I loved Ada. She was bigger than life herself and such a wonderful being.

"Always say yes to new things, it's the only way you'll be able to write about life - if you actually go out there and live it" really resonated with me. In a world where we are told to say no, to protect our time, this theme has been come back to me over and over again and I am choosing to say yes as much as possible. Now that Ada has demanded it, I will work harder because you don't let Ada down!

Say Yes to reading this wonderful story about family, love, and how to live a full life.
