I would have given it a lower rating if I had been blindsided by
Marx’s death in a workplace shooting
. Knowing that CW in advance let me continue to enjoy the book. It’s a love story but definitely not a romance. I think I’ll enjoy it on a reread even more. Beautiful. Painful.
