Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect by Jonice Webb

5.0

I was recommended this book because I struggle with social anxiety. Reading it has opened up my mind to a whole new explanation for why I am the way I am. My favourite thing about this book is that it doesn't blame parents for how they raised us (for the most part), but instead explains the reasoning for how they treated us. It explains how we can be the ones to break the cycle of generational emotional neglect. I love books that go straight to the source and explain it rather than just tell you how to fix the issue. It's much more effective when you understand the reasoning behind it.
