Haunting Blackie by Laurann Dohner

5.0

Blackie is a cyborg designed to have a high sex drive. He was so highly tortured when before was rescued that he didn't know anything what was done to them or how to do pretty much anything.

Eve knows what he is to her right away and makes him promise to wait for her and not lose his heart to one of the upgraded models. Blackie thinks Eve is human so he thought she's dead. It has been centuries and Eve had promised to come after him but she never did.

It's rare for me to really enjoy friendships or sibling relationships in standalones in a series but I really liked how close Eve's bond was with her sister, Danika. They felt a kinsip to cyborgs and that's why they helped them to escape. I really loved them but I'm not so sure I want a book with her as main character.

This was one of my favorite couples in the series. There's the bond that none of the other book had but also how drama free it was. There was never other man for Eve and she was never out of Blackie's thoughts no matter how many years went on.

Haunting Blackie was another awesome book in this series! The trust issues in last book annoyed me so I was so happy that Blackie and Eve trusted each other from the beginning. The books are about cyborgs but I love that Dohner is also introducing heroines that are something besides humans or cyborgs.
