The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston

4.0

•This book was SO cute! It’s a cheesy ghosty Hallmark story and sometimes that’s exactly what is needed. The book follows a ghost writer, Florence, who returns to her small hometown following a death in the family. Her family owns the local funeral home and growing up Florence could see and talk to ghosts. I won’t say more as I don’t want to give anything away!

•This book was written for the hopeless romantics, the people who romanticize their lives, the people who love a comforting happy ending. Was it cheesy? Hell ya. But it was so endearing and it’s a story I think I’ll come back to when I’m feeling like I need a hug.

•I also loved that the funeral home was like a character in itself - it was a love story to what funeral homes provide for people as they grieve. It was really beautifully done. I love Ashley Poston’s writing, it’s very lyrical and she sets a scene so perfectly!
