there's nothing like a historical murder mystery with a slow burn romantic subplot!! i read this as a fan of veronica speedwell, and while it is a lot slower, less quippy and not nearly as fun as VS, it was still so enjoyable! i can't wait to continue the series and see julia and brisbane's romance flourish
