Girls of July by Alex Flinn
3.0
I thought this would be cute, light summery novel about female friendship, and it was to an extent. The "Girls of July" were a diverse group with compelling backstories and relatable anxieties. While their relationships were well-developed and central to the story, there was a romance plot as well that I felt took away from that emotional core since it took up a third of the book. Additionally, it was a little overly-cheesy, even for me, with the campfire singalongs and grandma long-lost romance.
