While this started slow for me, it ended up being a good read that held my attention. This book spans several genres and themes pulling from Steampunk, Victorian, and Lovecraft. At times, certain characters monologued on end to their detriment.
I enjoyed the banter between Freddy/Winifred, Pimm, and Ellie. A line from Freddy that caught me off guard and made me cackle was:
"Why don't women's dresses have pockets!"
Welcome to our world, Freddy.
Adams is another unique individual who is morally grey. His scientific experimentation is a pathway to looking for love.
I found this book to be solid and well written. I borrowed it on Hoopla.
