Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin

Did not finish book. Stopped at 39%.
This was so interesting and so good - until I arrived at the section on the civil war. It wasn’t engaging and I didn’t feel it was explained very well. I’ve been trying to read this for a few months and I’ve read history books where war is discussed before, but because this is focussed on Lincoln’s political gameplay, this is just a lot of tiptoeing around his management of different perspectives, and while I enjoyed reading about his upbringing and how he became president, this second half has been a drag, and it took me a month to read 10 pages. I feel like someone else would enjoy this a lot more than me, but the first half was pretty good
