A compelling coming-of-age from the POV of a first-generation American and member of a Sikh community in the midwest. I love how Sheth developed her characters. The physical and emotional abuse from bullies was depicted unflinchingly, and the resolution felt both plausible and deeply gratifying. Stay for the author's note, as well. Beautifully narrated.
