This is a rather strong debut! Who would've thought that a post-apocalyptic book could be comforting just as it is horrific? I don't know how Brown does it, but he has here crafted something that perfectly balances tense scenes with more somber, emotional moments. I cannot recommend this enough especially for fans of Bill and Frank from The Last of Us.
