Normally I always try and read the book, if it exists, before watching the show or movie. However, I did not do that with this book, and as someone that enjoyed the show, I wanted more from the book. In my opinion, the two are completely different. The basics are the same but everything interesting that happens in the show, simply doesn’t occur in the book. There’s no deb ball, no volleyball tournament, no Fourth of July festivities. Really nothing happens in the book. It’s still a decent read but I don’t think I’ll continue the rest of the series.
