This is exactly what I want when I say I want something very easy to read. I love the small town tropes, the big sister as parent trope, the ‘I haven’t cried in 10 years and now I’m crying’ trope.

I will say, this isn’t a ‘two rivals’ book, so I’m not sure why it’s advertised like that. It’s a book agent and a book editor who had met once and not worked together before the main storyline in the small town.

The ending was good, but I don’t understand why they didn’t all just do the whole ‘Libby is taking over the shop’ thing before she had to leave, I feel like they already had all the puzzle pieces and it could have just ended with the climax being Libby leaving NYC and had Charlie coming back and supporting Nora through that. Libby already had everything planned out without telling Nora, including talking to Charlie’s mum about kindergartens, so it wouldn’t have been crazy either.
