"The Thirteenth Child" is a fantasy, gothic tale with a dark, fairytale atmosphere that only Erin Craig can provide.

Just like her previous books, The Thirteenth Child is a magical journey with beautiful descriptions and a smooth pace. The story feels like an old fairytale, though the narration doesn't follow the pattern. With a nice wrap-up in the end, but a predictable romance, the plot has many twists and turns and many interesting characters to boot.
