Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
4.0
Going into this one, all I could think about was that after having become familiar with this world in Gideon, it will take me no time to get into this story. And yet denial is a river in Egypt and Muir makes confusion a sport and believe me she’s getting the gold. Halfway into the book, I convinced myself that I clearly had not read Gideon with enough attention to detail and that I missed a good chunk of the story. It was such a mind-boggling experience I cannot even put it into words??? Still Stockholm syndrome works and works well because Muir unraveled me completely.
