Exceptionally well researched, as an history and English graduate its insight into academia and the nitty gritty researching scratched an itch long left dormant in me. The oppressive heat, the sensual and salacious plot, the obsessive and complex relationships made this book a fantastic twisty turny dark academia novel that I couldn’t put down. My own love for tarot and questions of fate definitely made this a good read for me, I wouldn’t recommend for someone without an interest in tarot or at least a bit of a history bug.
