This trans sapphic retelling of the minotaur myth is such a creative take on the tale, using the vilification and body dysmorphia that the minotaur experienced as a powerful trans analogy for the modern day. The mix of motherhood added another layer of meaning to the story, since young people were regularly sent as sacrifices in the labyrinth. Imagine how much more Theseus would’ve cared about defeating the Minotaur if his own kid was up for offering! Myrine is an much cooler hero than him in that way, and her T4T relationship with the “monster” was powerful for such a short read.
