The Honey-Don't List by Christina Lauren
3.0
I appreciate the effort that Christina Lauren exerts in making this novel. This is quite different from other books that I have read from them. There are inclusions of interview transcripts, book chapters (yes—a book within a book), and social media threads, which in my opinion add more flavor to the story BUT as a romance novel as it is, the ROMANCE aspect of the book feels a bit lukewarm for me. Considering the synopsis, I don't think Carey and James's journey to happy ever after is the main objective of the story. The romance between the two of them is bland, and this is one of the rarest cases that I didn't care for the main couple ending up together in a romance novel.
The writing, as always, is hilarious, witty, sometimes poetic, and super enjoyable. So I should stand on the middle for my rating.
