Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

Did not finish book.
DNFed at 41% because oh, man, I have never come across such a stupid, naïve child of a main character. The writing was decent, I suppose, but not only is the MC, who doesn't even have a name, completely insufferable, but so is the so-called love interest. There are so many things I could call him, but cold, manipulative, and predatory are the first ones that pop into mind, along with a less-than-appropriate one that begins with a C that I'll spare you all from reading. I'm told this is one of the classics that held up well, but no, unless your tastes lean toward stupid, insecure girls (She's an adult but she has the mindset of a teenager, it's ridiculous) and disgusting gaslighting men who propose to girls he barely knows, I'd skip this one.
