Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz

4.0

Type of read: Commuter Read.

What made me pick it up: Highly recommended on book lists.

Overall rating: A macabre love story with grit, gore, and great characters. I very much enjoyed 'Anatomy.' There were some little nuggets that I absolutely wasn't expecting and I found Hazel, the main character, to be extremely relatable. While a love story, 'Anatomy' is also the story of a girl who will do whatever is necessary to forge her own path and take control of her own destiny. There are multiple scenes that deal with death, graves, and surgery...so if you're a bit squeamish, it might not be the book for you; however, I would absolutely recommend 'Anatomy' to anyone looking for not your typical girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, girl and boy live happily ever after read.
