I really appreciated the photos! I thought they had been made afterwards to illustrate the book but they are in fact authentic, vintage photos. The author had first found some photos and tried to imagine stories from them. Then he kept looking for photos as he was writing the book. I really like the way the photos fueled the story and vice-versa.
