Gallant by V.E. Schwab
5.0
VE Schwab is easily one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint. Every time I read their work I get more and more in love with her style. She has a way of painting images in my heads like no other author. While reading this book I had such a clear image as ti what everything looked like and I was engrossed in this weird, ghoul filled world Schwab set up.
GALLANT is a story about a girl who is finding her self and discovering a world she never knew. It was so creative and brilliant. I feel like I can't say much because you really have to discover it for yourself. The vibes of this book and then atmosphere it sets up is enthralling. It's the kind of book that takes a little while because you just want to sit with it.
It also feels like an adult middle grade book if that makes sense. There is so much to think about in this world but the main character is very young. Schwab usually uses Victoria Schwab for her middle grade/YA books so I think they may have wanted its to see it this way.
I would highly recommend this book. Its was so fascinating and creepy in the best ways possible. A true work of art.
