I cried. You will cry. You will grab your children and cry. You will raise your head to God (or whomever you say prayers to) and say thank you for your protection during these times!!!

No one likes slavery but it is a part of our history and that completely sucks!! We follow a mixed slave who gets sold into slavery and her literal job was to have children with her owner. It’s very gruesome. There’s a lot of heart and tears and pain in this story. I loved the additional historical information that you learn throughout this read as well, you can definitely tell just by certain terms that the author uses that they did their research and wrote this out of care and necessity! I loved it!
