The Medici by Mary Hollingsworth

informative inspiring medium-paced

3.0

Rather a good book. I enjoyed how Hollingsworth consistently tied the deliberate crafting of the Medici family propaganda into the politics and the founding of the various academies of history, science, and language. The book is also very well organised and easy to follow. I really appreciated the lists of all relevant Medici and their relationships at the beginning of each chapter, especially as they pass the same five names around for two hundred years.
Also, now I want to visit Florence again with all this new knowledge in mind.
