The Drafter by Kim Harrison

5.0

The Drafter is the sort of sci-fi novel there needs to be more of out there. An incredibly enjoyable read where romantic relationships are important but the romance doesn't take precedence.

Peri Reed is an Opti agent whose work means she keeps forgetting aspects of her past. This is frustrating and when she starts to realise that the group might be corrupt she seeks out Silas, an alliance member who had found her.

This novel was completely amazing and the only reason it took me so long to read was that I've been busy. The characters are great and Jack...I want to hate him but Peri's feelings confuse me at the same time. Silas is going to be a pretty amazing boyfriend hopefully in the future though. I loved Taf and Howard as well so I hope to see more of them.

The only issue I had was that when the book would move to a time where Peri had lost her memory, I felt confused for a bit too. It feels frustrating to read at first and though that's kind of a good thing as you feel what Peri does it's also kinda ugh now she has to work everything out again.

This was a really good book though and I'm eager for the second books release.
