The Test by Sylvain Neuvel

This book was a TWIST.
But I really enjoyed it, I loved Idir’s character, he was just so lovable and the plot is just...wow.
It reads well and is quick and enjoyable so I’d definitely recommend it to people who like experimental psychology.

My two complaints are one, I found a typo or two while reading, it was nothing major but I’m picky about these things so it jumped out at me.

And secondly, I’m not sure how I feel about the ending because on hand it makes sense given what Idir went through.

But at the same time, the author making so that his personality took a 180 degree turn, to the point where he possessed none of the qualities I loved, not even a hint of them and that just didn’t sit well with me since it rang a little too close to home in terms of cultural norms.

The way Idir turned out is what is typical of what I see in my own culture and I’d really liked that he hadn’t been that way through the rest of the book.

Barring those two complaints, this was an addictive and interesting read which is definitely worth checking out.
