The Lover by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

5.0

Oh that's a story. I don't know if I feel for Judith or not. She obviously just wanted to ignore what the reality of the situation was. I thought that Moreno-Garcia did a very good job with Incorporating fairy tale themes to this.

Full review: Honestly, I have been so-so on Moreno-Garcia's longer works, but this one was right up my alley. A perfect short story for Halloween readers/lovers I think. "The Lover" follows the character of Judith living in "medievalish" times and wishing for her lover from the forest to come to her. And when a man from the forest comes, he is not who he appears to be. And when another comes, he is not either. I loved the squishiness of the story and you not exactly rooting for Judith, or against her. Just a very nice dark fairy tale I thought.
