The Boy on the Bridge by M.R. Carey

3.0

The Boy on the Bridge is the sequel to The Girl With All the Gifts, however you can read it as a standalone as they are just set in the same world rather than a continuous story. It is set in a post-apocalyptical world, but I won't say too much to avoid spoiling the plot.
This book, like the first, is very well-written and the pacing of the book is great. There are a lot of unlikeable characters in this book but the politics and philosophical dilemmas they come across along the journey are very thought-provoking and the characters are well defined with their own personal views. It is told in multiple POVs which definitely allows the reader to get to know the characters in depth.
Even though this isn't my typical genre, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it if you enjoyed The Girl With All the Gifts.
