"Sunstone" is a perfect continuation if character development is your thing! ^^
In this book, our protagonists deal with a new threat coming from a distant past. Although every situation is depended on that unforeseen menance, the scope of this book is, in my opinion, relationship development.
I really enjoyed the author's decision to shake up the world using such an interesting approach. This way, we see everyone being extra in terms of emotions, responsabilities and mistakes! 0_0
The new guy in town also gives more grounds to the whole story and explains some misteries in regards to Loki's actions, while inviting drama and a tense atmosphere for the rest of the crew.
I loved how this new addition, coupled with the nature of the threat, help Jenna mature and start figuring out what is plausible for her future and what is not.
If I have one thing to complain about, that is the prolonged indecision in her...for me, it's pretty clear who fits her better and why. Maybe that is because I'm not particularly fond of a superior-underling relationship, or because I don't see any reason why these 2 characters whould want each other so much.
I don't know if this is deliberate, or if the author is still deciding who is better for Jenna, but the rare moments we get with the other option are more precious, more impactul for Jenna's character.
Before I move on to anything else, I want to say that I like how Jenna is soooo tired with the Asgardian way of solvng every and any issue..fighting! THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!>..< I also am sooo over the alpha male act! :))))
As for other characters, I want to point out Ferbauti as a very interesting antagonist. I realy like how his motifs are well guarded and his slight mischievous nature!
For plot and world building,..at this point they get more and more enriched! ^_^(I don't think you had a problem with them if you're on book 4 >..>)
Overall, I love the direction this book took the series and I cannot wait to read the next one! Hope Jenna will stay just as true to herself in the future, and that her eyes will open to the major problems with her relationships!
Enjoy
