I really loved this book! I will recommend it to anyone black/white wanting to read more about history of slavery. Cora was an amazing character I fell in love with her bravery, courage and will to live; and to protect those she cared for. It was hard at times to read what Cora and the other slaves endured at the hands of the owners and captures. There were a couple chapters that confused me a.little that may make more sense of I pick the book up on a re-read which I may very well do. But overall I really enjoyed the book and the knowledge I got from Colson's writing. I liked his style, flows and easy to follow.
