Dracula by Bram Stoker
Gosh this was funny! I don't know what I was expecting, given all the sissy vampire rubbish that passes for popular entertainment at the moment! I love that Dracula is EVIL and everyone else is so EARNEST all the time. I found the establishment of the rules of vampirism quite fascinating, (ie he has to travel in a box of dirt - classic!) and could really enjoy a nice slice of garlic bread right about now :) I think my absolute favourite part is the idea that every time the gang had a discussion, or if something interesting happened, someone would move off to the side and either write or type furiously in the most eloquent and purple prose the details of the event! I bet that didn't get put into the movie :) I half expected Jonathan to be scrawling with his quill as he fell off the side of Castle Dracula after his rock-climbing expedition, but sadly no such luck. Vegetarian vampires are just plain stupid. This is way better!
