I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai
2.0
Too long. Narrating to a man for 450 pages???? Then he’s not even the killer probably? The RAGE I felt when, on page like 448, after narrating every unrelated, passing thought to this asshole, she says “I’m not going to tell you bc you don’t need to know” LOL.
I think I get what she was trying to do with this, and I appreciated some things about the book (humor, depictions of friendships and looking back on younger years, etc), but I couldn’t suspend disbelief enough to fuck with this narration style. I simultaneously hated the ending and liked that wasn’t an entirely happy ending (as most of these things go).
