Boy oh boy I loved this book. From the writing style to the characters, everything flowed perfectly and got me invested in the characters. Okay, a list of things I liked because otherwise I don't know where to start:
1. How relatable Cath is, especially when it came to her introvertedness.
2. That Reagan was so supportive of Cath and Levi being together, even though Levi was her (Reagan's) ex.
3. How Levi didn't push for sex.
4. How it was a single FATHER being represented for a change, haven't come across that much.
5. How Cath didn't back down when it came to her feelings about her mother, she wasn't wishy washy.
6. How Cath was so passionate in her fanfiction writing and that Levi supported her.
7. How realistic the sibling relationship between Cath and Wren is.
8. That although Cath failed to hand in an assignment, she was given a second chance and succeeded amazingly.
9. The pace of the novel and the writing style made me want to keep going, I was truly invested,
10. Last one because I could go on forever - How Levi picked Cath up from the library when it was dark, to keep her safe.
Why I didn't give it 10/10:
1. The ending was a disappointment. Felt like there were chapters missing and things weren't properly wrapped up.
2. The Simon Snow inserts thing was a bit pointless. I didn't mind when it was Cath's fan fic as much, but the 'actual' story inserts kinda annoyed me at times. I already knew what Simon Snow was about and I didn't need to know a sub-par other book's plot. That space could have been used for say... Cath's final writing project about her mother. That could have been a cool way for us readers to find out about that backstory.
Overall though I didn't feel like the negatives detracted me enough from how much I enjoyed the main plot which is why I only nocked off one star.
