I received this free from the publishers via NetGalley

I knew that as soon as I read this I would need more, so A Darker Shade of Magic is now officially on my wishlist.

Unfortunately this sample took way too long for me to read due to university and life in general, however, a bonus of reading this late is that I don't need to wait for it to be released, so YAY!

I thought the world building was absolutely fantastic, and it was done so effectively in the first chapter and that just shows how talented Victoria Schwab is. The world is so magical, enchanting and original and Victoria Schwab is a splendid writer.

The characters were splendid and they felt so in depth and developed and I love their relationships between each other and the meeting between Kell and Lila was fantastic and I just need more!

So basically, this sample was excellent and I just need to finish this book.
