This book compared to Divine Rivals is war and political with romance sprinkled in. I prefer this one. I liked the romance, but I actually cared more about the war and the politics of the story. Which is weird, because romance is my preferred genre.

Unlike in the first book, I cried in this one. A LOT! I wasn’t okay with that ending. It’s a happy but bittersweet one. I understand why people love this series, but I also understand the people who don’t.
