A new Titan Wars is coming soon (in Nov 2023) and I wanted to make sure I was caught up. I loved book 1 and The Piledriver of Fate was an immediate follow on of events to The Headlock of Destiny. I LOVE Van the Beer Man. He has heart and he's nice. I truly love the where there's Van, there's beer, and his beer barrel.
The Piledriver of Fate, for the first half of the book, is taking place in what could be considered as a sort of hell. That in itself made for some interesting atmosphere and a build up to what was yet to come.
There were, of course, very entertaining fights and a scene by one of the titans which was simply EPIC. I can't tell more - spoilers. Just know that the second half of the book really ramps up high octane activity.
Gately's writing is great - it doesn't seem to have a single corner to it that would require some filing down. The story flows smooth and the pacing is brilliant. The fight scenes are so easy to read and my eyes didn't gloss over even once. That coming from someone who would change the channel if WWE was on TV. Apparently, in written form it's a total hoot!
