The highlight of this book was the Navy WLW love story. A book about Mrs.Nash herself I would have given 4 stars to at least. What a fun character.
But the main, current love story? A miss for me. I found Millie to be too odd, too cringe, and too naive. Odd and cringe would have been ok if she wasn’t too naive. Millie didn’t want to be seen as the manic pixie dream girl but that was how I saw her. She was so forgetful that she kept forgetting the ONE thing that she needed to successfully complete this roadtrip. My middle name is Millie so I was so EXCITED to see that name in a book, oh well.
Don’t get me wrong there were great moments throughout this book that revolve around broccoli, pigeons, and a room full of Jesus pictures—but it wasn’t enough to make me love or like the book.
I also don’t do well with short timeline romances, so I should have known better. But I LOVED Happy Medium and expected to be proven wrong and have another great reading experience.
