A Carnival of Snackery: Diaries 2003-2020 by David Sedaris
3.0
I made the mistake of reading some other readers’ comments on this. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is entitled to feel how they feel and to react to things how they react, but there are some real idiots leaving reviews of this book. Is this my favorite Sedaris? No way, not even close. But, I still enjoyed this. If you’ve read all of his other books, you’ll understand this is quintessential Sedaris, but also much more personal than most of his already personal work. With that, I definitely prefer his essay collections over his diaries. I’ve also heard several of these entries at different readings and it was fun to experience them again.
