I’m sorry…THIS is the series all the book girlies are obsessed with?! I mean, I’m sure I’ve hype some questionable books, but I was expecting a lot more from this given how people literally salivate over this series. Objectively, this was just...not good. I had a lot of issues with it, but I seriously couldn’t get over how naïve and dumb the two (basically indistinguishable) heroines were. They frequently mentioned being super street smart since they were “foster kids from a bad area” (gag), but then they would make the literal dumbest decisions. I also kept forgetting this was supposed to be set in a magical college because everything about the characters and their interactions screamed high school.

All of that to say…I’m going to continue on since I already own most of the audiobooks and need something mindless to read right now. But I’m desperately hoping this series gets better (and quickly!).
