Beautiful book. A contemplation on nature, the universe and what's really important in life. I wish I'd read this when I actually lived in the woods, I think I would have appreciated it more. There is no better meditation than this and as an author, naturalist and philosopher, Thoreau has more than a few pearls of wisdom to offer:
Read the best books first
Put foundations under those floating castles of yours
Be the Columbus of your inner world and forge new channels, not of trade but of thought
Forget the past 'why loiter in winter, when it is already spring?'
Advance in the direction of your dreams and you will meet with success
