Nothing about this book really surprised me. But I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, nonetheless. It was an easy ready with interesting (if not obviously typecast from every other Fae book out there) characters and a comfortable plot. It was a good story to cleanse my palate after my first read of the Throne of Glass series. I would best describe this as a comfort read, probably because so much of it reminded me of ACOTAR. It gets four stars from me because I enjoyed reading it, and I'll definitely pickup the sequel next year.
