The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton, Lara Love Hardin
5.0
For someone who spent 30 years on death row for a crime he didn't commit, Anthony Ray Hinton has such a positive outlook on life. I loved how he not only told his legal but his faith journey as well. The Lord sustained him through injustice.
⠀⠀
Listening on audio I wanted to speed this book up even more than usual so I could consume it faster. I had to know what happened. He handles talking about people who are guilty of horrific crimes in a way that made me stop and consider them as people rather than the crimes they committed.
⠀⠀
I will be thinking on this book for a long time and how it informs my beliefs on crime and punishment, especially our US legal system.
