Most of this book is about Clark-Flory’s personal journey through her own sexuality coming of age in the early digital era and entering adulthood in the liberal kink scene of San Francisco. But the things she writes about consistently weave their way back to a need for solidarity. Multiple times the author suggests that The Sexual Revolution was ultimately incomplete; and women’s full liberation will only be finished with a combination of individual choices AND collective action.
