This book was much better than the first. Not quite the carbon copy of Red Queen x Hunger Games that Powerless was.
I really enjoyed the "enemies" to lovers trope, since they weren't really enemies at the end of Powerless. The dynamic between Kai and Pae was very loveable and was very enjoyable to read along with some classic tropes such as the one bed.
Didn't really like the slight miscommunication trope that was happening but that might just be me. Doesn't really deserve 5 stars in my mind but the ending was very good and I will most certainly be reading the next one.
