The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

5.0

I love, love, love this book. The characters are still engaging and go through considerable development, the writing and worldbuilding are amazing and the story is suspenseful. However, I can't help but wonder whether the story might not have been better served by interspersing the Frodo-chapters and the Rohan-chapters. That way, the parallelism of the approaches of the two towers to the War would have been made more obvious. Also, the contrast between Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry, and Pippin beginning to win renown and some battles and Frodo and Sam sinking deeper into darkness and despair would have been emphasized.
Regardless of that, the book is amazing.
