Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren
4.0
I did not know this book was part of a series. Yet, I was able to read it as a stand alone novel. Instantly, I connected with Akira as a human being and not just an assassin. The conflict that Akira endured under her boss's rule is real; especially when she met Devon. I felt Akira growing weary of being an assassin and craving a "normal" life and companionship.
Part of the classification of this novel is erotic. When it came to this aspect, it was tasteful without being overly assertive. Devon and Akira were not just about the sex. They both had emotions thrown into the ring and thus making what they felt for each other real. Yet, my only slight complaint would be that it felt like the story moved a little slowly in revealing Akira's mission. The vibe of the story did not pick up under more then half way through the story. Overall, through I enjoyed this book a lot and want to go back and read the prior novels to see Akira's journey from the beginning.
