Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly

5.0

Love & Other Disasters meshes together some of my favorite things: queer romance + reality cooking shows.

Dahlia meets London on their first day of shooting Chef’s Special when she literally walks into London and then word vomits an embarrassing story to cover up her nervousness about the show. Their first meeting leaves London unsure of how to handle the massive ball of color and energy that is Dahlia, who confuses London’s silence and standoffishness for them not liking her.

After an awful first day, Dahlia ends up confronting London about their behavior, and once the air is cleared the pair instantly hit it off. They start up an easy friendship, but their obvious chemistry on and off screen is too hard to ignore, and soon turns into more.

YALL!! I’m seriously obsessed with this book, I loved it so much. Dahlia’s character is a bit of a hot mess, but is perfectly balanced by London who is such a sweet, patient soul. They seriously made me swoon.
