Wilkerson’s writing about the Great Migration is beautiful. Wilkerson has memorialized George, Ida, Pershing and the millions of others that made the dangerous trek to the north, including my own great-grandmother. This book should be required reading. It’s a work of art and a true love letter to those who sacrificed so much . I’m grateful it exists.
