Heretics Anonymous by Katie Henry
5.0
I gave this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book. It was mix of different things: comedy, young-adult, family issues and etc. This was a really well rounded story which resolved issues and helps the main character grow.
I really like Michael’s arc in this story where he goes from being really cynical towards everything, especially religion but he ends up getting hope and a sense of belonging in the end. I liked that he learned so many things about the people around him, especially his dad and ultimately about himself. I also liked the cast of characters surrounding him, especially his Heretics Anonymous colleagues.
The romance in this story was okay and was passable. I had some issues with how Michael sometimes viewed Lucy, but it was ultimately resolved.
I’d really recommend this book to anyone looking for a good story that is well rounded and has a lot of sarcasm but a lot of laughs and hard hitting moments as well.
